Can you help find rented accommodation in Salisbury, UK?
Looking for accommodation for my friend. He has recently re-immigrated back to the UK after many years of living abroad. He has returned with his wife and son who is 2 years old.
He has assets of under 10,000 pounds. So he presumably cannot buy. In addition, he has only just rejoined the UK job market so he cannot get a mortgage. He is staying with his parents which is a temporary solution. As he is not homeless, the council are reluctant to provide any housing.
In addition, many of the rented properties he has enquired at refuse children.
He is not the type of person who will storm into the housing office and “demand his rights”. So if anyone can provide details of housing associations etc that can assist, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Register with the council housing department straight away. Tick the box that says you wish to be nominated for housing associations.
You must make it known to the council that you are homeless, if you don’t, they won’t help.
Also get the parents to write a letter stating that you can only stay for a limited period due to overcrowding.
Another point in his favour is that he has a local connection.
